PRONTO REMOTE CONTROL

make it yours ...

Scope

Pronto marked a shift in the future of consumer electronics. Universal remote controls had been around for some years, but with the internet came the opportunity for customisation, and Pronto was the first to take advantage of it.
Designing an interface was mainly about structure, and simplicity, so that users had a clear model that they could populate. A community of users rapidly developed, and an amazing number of self made systems were shared.

Results

Six generations later Pronto finally came to an end due to the increasing dominance of mobile phones and apps. However, it had paved the way and had been a market leader for Philips.
